About Elarmo Fitness McKinney, TX
I started Elarmo Fitness, because I was tired of working for gyms that only cared about the bottom line, rather than, what was really important…the people. I felt it was time to start investing in people and changing the cycle of only caring about monetary gains. Elarmo Fitness has given me a platform to change lives and promote health and fitness in a positive light. It is important that individuals learn that this journey is both physical and mental, because in life, we sometimes fail, but anything worth having is worth fighting for. We teach our clients how to exercise properly, we provide nutritional guidance and we offer encouragement to help make this journey and transition much smoother.
Each client will meet with me, Jared Elarmo, for a brief sit down to discuss each individual’s goals and expectations. This ensures that the trainer and the client both understand what needs to be done and both parties are ready to begin the journey together. The next step in the process is to assess the individual for muscle imbalances. We do this by testing various movement patterns (example: sitting into a chair/ overhead squat assessment). This is the technique a physical therapist would use, which is why we incorporate this and other assessments with every client. This allows us to not only help with weight loss, but also we help with bone structure and the neurological system.
Everyone is different, and each client deserves a workout specific to their needs based on the assessments monitored by the trainer. This is a promise I personally make to all potential and existing clients:
“All clients will be given a unique workout program at Elarmo Fitness and each workout will be designed specifically from their assessments.”
Each client goes through the following three phases during their training:
- Stability – the first phase in which we use a lot of body weight exercises, along with light weights with more repetitions to improve the individual’s balance and muscle endurance. To ensure proper progression through each phase, the program focus relies heavily on core strength.
- Strength – the second phase where sets and repetitions will start to change to ensure that the client’s body will not adapt to the exercise program.
- Power – the final phase where not only do the sets and repetitions change, but the tempo and rest periods are altered as well. Fitness in this phase will incorporate body weight to exercise at a faster tempo with explosive movements like jumping, to reinforce power
Each phase brings new challenges with new exercises and increased loads. We do not progress until we have mastered the movements form the previous phase. Once we have made it through all three phases of the program, it is time to start from scratch, re-assess your goals/ fitness level and create new goals to conquer.
